I decided to start a blog because I wanted to find additional motivation to a couple of writing projects. Just as everyone who sets themselves goals at the start of a year, the main purpose of this blog is for me to be able to express some of my ideas, talk about places I’ve traveled, my current projects, and, last but not least, short stories I’m writing.

Where to start…

But why not keep publishing them in Medium?

If you were redirected from my Medium articles to this blog, it’s because of one main thing, Medium isn’t the place where I’ll be keeping my blog. I’ll still be using it to publish my short stories, since it’s the place where I started writing, but most importantly, Medium helps me to get out there with the pieces of writing that I’ve done.

I write for myself, and many of the characters and situations that I represent in my stories have a reflection of myself and what’s currently going on in my life. Whether I write a fantasy story, a fiction based on a family, or a story regarding someone’s happenings in life, there’s always a story to tell. I enjoy writing this sort of things because I want to share them, my stories live in my mind and my heart, but there are some that I truly believe deserve a place in the outside world, where readers and witnesses can empathize with my characters and the situation or conundrum that it was presented to them.

What else to expect?

Although it may sound ridiculous in a certain way, another one of the main reasons I wanted to start a blog like this was to share a couple of thoughts and ideas I may have regarding something. Yes, this is the fancy way of saying “I want to review some things”. I’ve been watching a couple of movies recently and, due to the recommendation of a close friend of mine, created an account over at Letterboxd to review the movies I’ve seen, but the main reason I wanted to review them on a separate space was for me to be able to share better my thoughts with no sort of character limits.

Whether its a game I’m currently playing (or that’s currently in my backlog), a book I’m reading (or maybe a series of books), series, etc…, I want to share them with an audience so you can get an idea of what you can read, play, watch, and most important of all, enjoy.

I know there may be some different ideas on a subject, and that’s something that excites me a lot! I want to share my thoughts and ideas, and if you were to comment something on one of my posts, I’ll be more than happy to further elaborate and talk to you about it.

There is one small detail in all of this…

If you were glancing over the Tags section, you can see that there are two tags that stand out. English and Spanish, although I intend to write most of my posts in English, since I believe it’s a language that many people speak in the world, I will also be publishing posts and stories in Spanish. If my name didn’t give my identity away, I’m a native Spanish speaker, and there are things that I believe that sound better in my native language.

The main point I’m trying to make with all of this is just something pretty quick…if you see a post in Spanish, don’t worry, I may translate it but that depends if the emotions it transmits are similar to the original post, but the English posts may be translated in it’s entirety (I’m still not so sure about this last point).

Before I forget!

I will also use my blog as a place to hold my portfolio regarding a couple of my personal projects. For context, I’m a Computer Engineer and I want to get a couple of my projects out in the world, so I intend to also share a couple of my projects here. Although at the time of writing I’m only working on a project to better understand the players’ statistics from the NFL.

I will be posting a bit more information about why I started my projects, their developments and I will also be posting surveys to see which changes I could make to improve them, recommendations from you, changes, etc.

Thank you!

Whether we are friends from a long time, new acquaintances, or you happened to find this blog by yourself, thank you! Thanks for taking your time reading this post, and if you enjoy reading new things and your curiosity pushed you to take a look at my future posts, thank you!

I meant what I said before, I’ll be reading the comments you make in my posts, whether its a suggestion, a recommendation, or a critique about a comment I made, I intend to read all of this because I want to learn more from other people, as well as keep improving myself (as a person) as well as my writing.

As a parting gift from having you reading this post, I’ll just leave a picture of my dog here.
